Jeff Tweedy played a sold out show at The Orpheum last night. Aside from some unruly fans in the front who kept shouting “White Sox,” the show was one of the better solo performances I’ve seen Jeff do. He played what he said was a new Loose Fur song, and was joined by his son Spencer on drums for a rousing performance of “I’m The Man Who Loves You.” Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche opened the show and sat in for the encore. His opening act spanned a wide variety of musical influences and was interresting and enjoyable.
The set list is as follows:
Spiders (Kidsmoke)
Sunken Treasure
Summerteeth
Too Far Apart
Please Tell My Brothers
Bob Dylan’s 49th Beard
[new Loose Fur song w/ a chrous like “Christ is on holiday way across town/back jack, smokin’ crack”]
Satan, Your Kingdom Must Come Down
Remember The Mountain Bed
When You Wake Up Feeling Old
Someday, Some Morning, Sometime
I Am Trying To Break Your Heart
Pick Up The Change
Promising
Gun
Secret of the Sea
Heavy Metal Drummer
ELT

I’m The Man Who Loves You [w/Spencer Tweedy on drums]
Airline To Heaven

Yeah. That is a great set. Some good stuff he didn’t play earlier in the year in Chicago, but still good. Anybody have audio from the show?

My wife was in Madison (from Chicago) last weekend to hit up this show. I’m jealous, yes, but she brought me back a poster and had it framed before she left. I love her even more than Tweedy, yes I do.
Amazing set list.
