According to NME:
Special performance of ‘Wake Up’ online for a limited period
Arcade Fire are to release their recent live peformance of ‘Wake Up’ with David Bowie as a download.
The Montreal band will make the track available for one week only on iTunes from November 14.
The live download features singer Win Butler and Bowie trading verses during their recent performance at the Fashion Rocks event in New York during September.
Of the performance Win told NME.COM: “It was very special to have the opportunity because our record only came out less than a year or so ago at the time and we were remembering playing to about 20 people in a club. Then there we were playing with David Bowie. It just goes to show what an unbelievable year we’ve had.”
All proceeds from the download will go to Hurricane Katrina relief charities.
‘Wake Up’ is the fourth single to be taken from Arcade Fire’s debut album ‘Funeral’ which has now gone Gold in the UK and notched up over half a million sales world wide.
The album version of the track will also be available as a limited edition, etched 7″ single on the same day.
