Jens Lekman – Oh You’re So Silent Jens

Just yesterday Pitchfork announced that Jens Lekman is going on a hiatus from music. You’d have a hard time believing that Jens Lekman isn’t even 25 years old. With a mature voice and songs about listening to Warren G’s “Regulators,” you can’t help but fall in love with this album. This album is actually a collection of B-side recordings held over from his previous release “When I Said I Wanted to Be Your Dog,” which is fantastic in its own right.

I got turned on to this album late in the year, but I think this will be one of those discs that I will still be listening to in the next couple of years. Tracks like “Black Cab” and “Another Sweet Summer’s Night On Hammer Hill,” are my definite favorites on this album, with the later being one of my favorite songs that I’ve heard all year.

If the Pitchfork news above about Jens Lekman going on hiatus is true, I hope it’s a brief one. The music he’s been making has been a welcome addition to my record collection.

    and I didn’t even know he had released stuff outside of sweden…I’ve learnt something today! black cab and maple leaves are the best.
