Tonight I will be heading to the High Noon Saloon to see Andrew Bird. The sold out show is the second in a row for Andrew here in Madison. His last appearance at Cafe Montmartre was one of my favorite shows I saw last year. I had his album, The Mysterious Production of Eggs as my 3rd favorite album of 2005. I’m also very excited to see Haley Bonar, who was given some praise by You Ain’t No Picasso.

In case you missed them last month, go here for MP3′s of Andrew Bird’s performance on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic.
Anyone else going to this show or seen him on this tour?

I am going to the show tonight and looking forward to it. I missed him in Milwaukee a couple of weeks ago and wound up selling my tix so I was really glad to see him back in the area.
Everyone I know that has seen him live says basically the same thing: “Best concert in a decade”
The Milwaukee show was sold out as is the High Noon show.
FYI: I have one ticket for sale if anyone is interested.

I’ll be there, right in the middle of a quick blast of four shows in a week. Hopefully I’ll be able to get there earlier than I did for the Feist show and not have to wait in a huge line in the five degree weather.

The Cafe Montmartre show was definently one of the best in Madison last year. Hopefully tonight will be as good.

Mr. Bird is great to see live. I’ve only seen him in 2002 opening for Mason Jennings. However, when I went to get tickets for my group on Wed, I found out the show was sold out. Anybody have 3-4 tickets?

I saw him twice on this tour–in Athens, GA and then two days later in Atlanta, and both shows were excellent (though the Athens show was by far the better of the two). I heard that the show in between those two, in Tallahassee, FL, was not so good (very short set and he was evidently not at all on that night, so a friend of a friend says). He did a bunch of new stuff that was really good.
I thought Haley Bonar was pretty good too, not terribly polished as a performer, but a good voice, nice songs–in other words, a pretty good opening act.

Regarding Number 8., I just happened to come across this and I have to say that the show he did in Tallahassee in ’06 was incredible, and I remember it being a pretty long set, or at least not short. I believe you were callously misinformed.
