Rogue Wave – Strictly Discs In Store

I just got back home from the Rogue Wave in store performance at Strictly Discs. They played quite a few songs off both of their records, and took everyone on a short field trip from the store up the street to a parking garage where they performed two songs. The first song they performed in the garage was the fantastic “Bird on a Wire,” followed by a cover of the Buddy Holiday song “Everyday.”

A lot of Rogue Wave vinyl!

After returning to the store, the band was nice enough to stick around to chat and sign albums. If you’re going to the show tonight, you’re in for a good one. Below is a video of their performance in the parking garage on Monroe St.

Rogue Wave – Bird on a Wire & Everyday (Buddy Holly cover) [video]

—Note: This is a long download. I can’t upload it to youtube because it’s 213 Mb. Any other suggestions, would certainly be welcomed. Even if you watch it once and delete it, I think it’s totally worth checking out.

Also, make sure to head over to I’m Just Sayin Is All for his take on the performance and an MP3 of the Buddy Holly cover. He’s doing an interview with the band tonight, so make sure to check out his site.

Looks pretty cool, wish I hadn’t been bogged down w/ work all afternoon. How about that two-hour Nada Surf set? Wow! I don’t really have the knees to stand around for that long anymore, but man, that was something else.

FFmpeg is probably the easiest and most versatile way to compress it if you don’t have Quicktime Pro. It’s available for all major platforms, but is a command-line tool with some lame interface options.

    Ryan,
Thanks so much for posting such a great review of the Rogue Wave in-store. I thought everything went really well and we have been very excited and pleased with the feedback we’ve received from folks who attended. Thanks also for posting that video. I wasn’t able to make my way down to the garage to see that and now I really wish I had since I was the one who requested “Everyday”. If you have any more photos from the in-store I’d love to see them. You have my email address (or the general one for the store) so if you’re willing to send them I’d appreciate that very much.
    Thanks again!
