Great Lake Swimmers – Live at CBC – 8.16.04

The Great Lake Swimmers will be returning to play Madison next month along with Centro-Matic at the King Club on April 9th. Sometimes you get caught up in those silly games about what you would do if you had super powers. I always answer that I would like to be in two or three places at once. The reason for this is because Lucero is playing that same night at Mad Planet in Milwaukee. So anyone that cares to advise me on which show to see that night is more than welcome to leave a comment.

The reason for this post is to give you some high quality live material from the Great Lake Swimmers from their performance on CBC in 2004. These tracks are haunting and beautiful. I can listen to this band over and over again. Those of you that are familiar with the band will obviously appreciate the delicacy of these tracks. I’m hoping these tracks might be the first exposure of this band for some of you.

I wish. I will be in Toronto for work that week. I’m going to catch Pearl Jam/My Morning Jacket that night while I’m in Toronto.
