The Silver Jews and Why? put on an increddible show last night. At one point during the set, David Berman commented that since this was only their 12th show, that they were in fact the newest band on the block, “we’re newer than the Arctic Monkeys!”
Here are a few things you should be checking out before the start of next week:
- Stereogum has a video of one of the Pearl Jam performances from last night’s Saturday Night Live.
- Captain’s Dead offers Patterson Hood of the Drive By Truckers doing six Rolling Stones tunes, as well as the Truckers performance on KEXP. Don’t forget to pick up the new Drive By Truckers album, A Blessing and a Curse this Tuesday. I noticed that Best Buy has it for $7.99 this week.
- So Much Silence offers up MP3’s of the KCRW performance by The Boy Least Likely To.
- Aquarium Drunkard has a Grateful Dead show from May 8th, 1977.
- Marathon Packs has a great review and pictures from the Silver Jews performance in Bloomington.

Hey Ryan, I haven’t visited here much lately, but things have been crazy at home a bit. I’ll be around more frequently though. Love the lyric chosen for the post title.
