sigurros.jpg

Sigur Ros w/Amina
Wednesday, May 10th at 8PM
Riverside Theater
116 W. Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee

One of my favorite bands will be playing the Riverside Theatre on May 10th, and I won’t be able to make it because I will still be here in Toronto. Lucky for you, the nice people at the Riverside Theater are offering up five (5) pairs of tickets to readers of Muzzleofbees.com.

In order to be eligible for the giveaway, please leave a comment below. If you’d like, please include a band name(s) that you would like to see play in Wisconsin.

Thank you very much to the Riverside Theater for making this possible.

Here is a link to some free MP3′s offered by the band on their website for your enjoyment. You can also be their friend on Myspace.

I really wish the Eames Era would come here. They play bouncy, minimalist Casio pop, but they seem to do it mostly in the south and west. Failing that, I really really really want Karmella’s Game to come back when their album’s out.

    I would love to go.
I hope you have a great time in Toronto. It’s been several years since I was in Toronto, but I really enjoy that town. Montreal, too.
Quick story. I gave a lift to two 17-19ish French speaking teenage guys hitchhiking in Canada. They spoke no English. I let them shuffle through my cassette collection and they selected Sonic Youth’s, Experimental Jet Set Trash & No Star. “Ah, Sonic Youth” they exclaimed. I know it’s an overused stereotype, but people in Canada really are friendly.

  6. Pete Says:

Let’s see these bands play here (in no particular order):

    Band of Horses
    Gnarls Barkley
    Sonic Youth
    Tom Waits
    Kanye West
    Ghostface
    TV on the Radio
    BSS
    Radiohead (again)
    The National

    That’s the shortlist.

I’d like to see Wheat come back to Wisconsin and how about a return visit from Spoon? And if the Little Ones could make it out of California and head directly to Madison, that would be alright, too.

  8. Lloyd Christmas Says:

My first choice would be for the Black Angels to come to Milwaukee. In addition (including most of the bands listed above) it would be pretty interesting to see a Matisyahu show too.

  9. Jason Says:

    microphones \ mt eerie
    godspeed you! black emperor
    m. ward
    broken social scene
    the weakerthans
    do make say think

  10. Casey Brown Says:

I’d love to see Cursive return (I still can’t believe that Denali broke up the day of their Madison show with them); Saturday Looks Good To Me really needs to play a better venue than The Corral Room when they next show up in Madison; there was a rumor that Broken Social Scene was pegged for this year’s WSUM Party in the Park (before the entire event was shelved); I’m pretty sure Sufjan & Arcade Fire’s booking agencies would probably think their acts are too cool for Wisconsin, but I’d still like to see them here. The only act I left out from the most played on my iTunes is The Ronettes, but I find that one highly unlikely.

  11. Douglas Stewart Says:

Radiohead, The Happy Bullets, Martin Sexton, Damien Rice, Sondre Lerche, The Kingsbury Manx

  12. Dan Says:

Man, too many bands to name.

    I’d love to see:
    Manu Chao

loose fur (or any project with jim o’rourke)
    jolie holland
    joe henry
