Three things before I call Thursday a day.

First, Soul Asylum has a new album coming out on July 11th. There is a good chance I’m one of the only people out there that gives a shit about this, but because I do, I am going to offer up a track that was sent to me.

Souild Asylum – Stand Up And Be Strong [mp3]

These guys music was and is so much more than their “Runaway Train” hit catapulted them into. Please check out the track above and be their friend on Myspace.

Second, a new blog I just ran across has a couple of great posts. The one that takes the cake is a video of a prank pulled on a Best Buy store in NYC. Check out the rest of Acquiring Satellite Signal’s site here.

Finally, everyone needs to send their friend, enemies, whomever a Monk-E-Mail.  Seriously, this shit is so off the hook.  You can have me rolling with laughter.  Please feel free to send any that you create to me!

i care about the new Soul Asylum ;)

not the biggest fan of the first single (the song you posted), but the album is a scorcher. check out Oxygen on their myspace, great track.

I heard this the other day and am really disappointed. When I heard the band was recording again, I was psyched. Is this Train? The Fray? The Goo Goo Dolls? I mean, come on. Pirner has been away for so long and this is the best he could do? If there ever was a song that was corporate rock crap, this is it. I’ll check out the other stuff, but I am not holding my breath.

This is the first I’ve heard about new Soul Asylum — I am skeptical but optimistic. They were my first concert back when they were touring Let Your Dim Light Shine and I would love for them to still be producing good music.
