LovingKindness

Alan Singley & Pants Machine were complete strangers to me until I checked my mailbox a couple of days ago on my lunch hour. The album arrived at the right time as I was just about to embark on a quick road trip to the windy city to catch Radiohead for the first time.

Alan Singley has made the record that will make him known throughout the indie world, and possibly beyond. It’s a solid record from start to finish, and I can’t help but think that this will end up on my year end list of favorites, and quite possibly a few other people’s as well. Lyrically, there is a lot of depth to what Alan sings about on these tracks. Check out some MP3’s below for a sampling of what the album has to offer. In addition to well-crafted songwriting, the album art deserves a little bit of a nod as well.

Insound says:

The visceral psychofolk songwriting of Alan Singley reverberates an offering from the deepest of boxes; a low-fi messenger of the darkest and loveliest hours.
