Wilco – Lollapalooza
p1060092.JPG

Wilco’s homecoming set at Lollapalooza was just what I needed to trasition from a hot day in the sun towards a utterly fantastic finale to an all-around great time in the city of Chicago. Granted I’m a huge fan of theirs, but as Frank, Eric and I were talking, you aren’t really going to get surprised by a Wilco show these days as we’d all seen them quite a bit touring behind A Ghost Is Born. Someone in the Wilco camp must have overheard us because the band played four new tunes for us, with “What Light” and “Let’s Fight” being the most recent contributions to set lists in addition to “Walken” and “Impossible Germany,” which I caught when they played Milwaukee’s Summerfest.

Frank has a MP3 of “Impossible Germany” posted here from the above referenced Summerfest show. I’ll have an MP3 of “Let’s Fight” up shortly. Until then, check out the set list from the Lollapalooza show. Looking forward to the new album.

hi ryan! cool website. looks like you had a great time too. unfortunately for me, wilco was a bit of a write-off due to spending most of the set furiously text messaging in an effort to find a couple friends who had gotten misplaced in that awful awful crowd. enjoyed reading your synopsis. i should have my own thoughts on the weekend (beyond broken social) written down soon enough.
