Dear Beck,
It seems like it’s been some time since you and I hung out. I got to see you a little bit last year, but you brought Guero around the first time we met up, and while I had a good time, it wasn’t like the old days. The next time I saw you partying with Guero’s offspring, Guerolito I was sad. I secretly wondered if things would ever be the way they once were. I mean am I the only one that sees it? Perhaps distance has changed us both, but I’ll never forget the day that you showed me Odelay. I’m not a dancer, but that album made me shake my ass. It took a piece of my heart away when I heard you what you’d done on Mutations and I had high hopes when I heard you were working on Midnight Vultures.
Everyone told me Sea Change was a departure, but it was one I was happy to go on with you. That’s why hearing what you did with Guero and Guerolito pained me so bad. At first I thought I liked them, and then I listened closer. I can’t say I hate that you associate with them, they’re good people on their own, just not the kind I like to see you hanging out with.
I placed a big red star on today’s date on my calendar. I had heard you were back in town hanging out at the same old place I buy my records. I heard you had The Information I’d been seeking since the back in the Odelay days. I admit, I got a secret tip that contained its contents beforehand, but that doesn’t make you like me less does it? I’m picking up The Information today, I can’t wait. I feel like we are finally seeing the world the same way again.

What a nice post. Love it. So, what’s the verdict? Is he back in your good graces today? Can you guys hang again?

Upon first listen, the album seems to have a lot of depth, and I always dig Beck’s funky side. Can’t wait to pick up my own copy and give it a few more listens.
