We Like: Loney, Dear – Loney Noir
lonely-dear.jpg

MoB contributor Pete was after me all day to listen to some tracks off of the upcoming Loney, Dear album Loney Noir due out on SubPop on February 6th, 2007. When I finally got around to listening to the album well into the evening, I knew I had been turned onto one fantastic piece of work.

Sweden is the new Canada, or at least that’s how it seems these days as the amount of good music consistently arriving from Sweden, and Loney, Dear is no exception. Loney, Dear is the work of Emil Scanangen, “multi-instrumentalist and audio homecooking expert.” Listening to these tracks it’s easy for me to see what album will have a head start in terms of favorite albums of 2007.

There are a plethora of MP3′s available on the Loney, Dear songs page and as a person who’s on his 2nd listen of the morning I can recommend all of them with a giant Muzzle of Bees stamp of approval.

Update: Lonely, Dear will be opening for Of Montreal when they play the Pabst Theater on St. Patrick’s Day – March 17th, 2007.
