We Like: Frightened Rabbit
frightened_rabbit_web_03.jpg

Based on The Catbirdseat’s high recommendation of the Frightened Rabbit album Sing The Greys I quickly picked up the album and posted about it at the end of last year. More recently, Pitchfork lent its ear and gave it a rather respectable review. Until today, the band had yet to release any legal MP3′s or announce any tour dates in the US. You’ve waited patiently and your patience deserves to be rewarded. While the tour dates are not excessive by any means, they do have a Chicago show scheduled for the Empty Bottle on January 23rd, for which I will be conveniently displaced to the East Coast for work.

Tour Dates:

1/15 – NYC – Micheline’s
1/17 – NYC – Northsix
1/19 – NYC – Cake Shop
1/20 – NYC – Sin-e
1/21 – Philadelphia – Johnny Brenda’s
1/22 – NYC – Mercury Lounge
1/23 – Chicago – Empty Bottle

Finally, Frightened Rabbit contributed a song called, “The Modern Lepar” to the new disc Music For Robots: Vol 2, which can be purchased for $10 by following this link.

Myspace: Frightened Rabbit
MP3: Frightened Rabbit – The Greys
MP3: Frightened Rabbit – Go Go Girls

I too came across Frightened Rabbit thru Catbird Seat and just received the CD in the mail. Very special music indeed.

I heard the band playing with them at the northsix show (called Batman and Robins) is actually THE SPINTO BAND playing under a pseudonym!
