whether you know it or not, all shows at madison’s student unions are for students and other union members. the majority of folks who attend the shows are not students / union members, but usually this doesn’t matter.

BUT for big and massive shows were capacity crowds are expected, crowds are suppose to be limited to students and union members (until capacity is reached). sometimes. this principle is evoked (but not always; example, joanna newsom). this should / will mean that union members with valid IDs / membership cards get in first. so at popular shows, there should really be two lines to get in: one for union members, one for the general public.

in cases of extremely popular shows, tickets are to be handed out beforehand at the theater box office to those with valid union / student IDs.

so for the big upcoming girl talk and man man show on march 24th, tickets are available at the box office (but only to union members and students). if you do not have a ticket at the door, day of show, you are not guaranteed admittance.
