Backyard Tire Fire released Vagabonds & Hooligans earlier this month and are about to embark on a tour in support of the release. The band kicks off tomorrow night at the Double Door in
You’ll still find your folk-rock blues that you come to expect from the band on this album, but there are also moments of delicate brilliance in tracks like the piano driven “A Long Time,” where singer Ed Anderson admits that, “it’s been along time since the skin I live in felt like mine.” There’s earnesty in every Backyard Tire Fire song – stories that we can all relate to – some you wish you couldn’t, but can nonetheless.
The band will be playing the High Noon Saloon on April 19th, with JJ Grey & Mofro. You can catch Backyard Tire Fire in a city near you, I especially recommend the shows they share the bill with MoB favorite William Elliott Whitmore.
Vagabonds & Hooligans is streaming in its entirety on the Backyard Tire Fire website and make sure you drop the change to purchase your copy as well. We have an extra copy of the album we’d like to give away, so leave a comment and you’ll be notified if you’re the lucky winner.
