Spending the last few days with the upcoming album from The Clientele, God Save The Clientele leads me to believe this could be the album to take them to the next level of exposure.

The album is set for release on May 8th on Merge Records contains all the things you’ve loved about the band along with hints of new direction and exploration with their sound. I’ve been enjoying this album so much I sought out all their previous albums for a complete refresher course, starting with The Violet Hour which I borrowed from a friend.

Definitely an album you’ll be hearing a lot more of as the album approaches. In the meantime, the band and label have made available the first single, “Bookshop Casanova” in MP3 format below.

Muzzle of Bees is happy to present The Clientele along with other MoB favorites Beach House and Pale Young Gentlemen when they play the High Noon Saloon on Friday, June 1st.
