If you’ve seen the Flaming Lips once, you pretty much stand there a casual observer each time thereafter. Seeing them at the Vegoose Music Festival a few years ago with two of my best friends remains a highlight of my concert going experiences.
If you’re not already booking flights and hotels in Las Vegas to cheer on the Badger football team, then there is only one place to be in Madison on Saturday, September 8th, especially if you like Southern Comfort. While the details remain a somewhat mystery, The Flaming Lips bring their eclectic live show, complete with Wayne in a giant inflatable hamster ball, to Willow Island at Alliant Energy Center. Word on the street is that it will be free!!!
In addition to that, The Flaming Lips will release their first-ever live DVD – U.F.O’s AT THE ZOO: THE LEGENDARY CONCERT IN OKLAHOMA CITY, on July 24th, 2007.

WOW. This is too exciting. I saw them at Lolla last year and they did the inflatable ball thing. Who else besides Cold War Kids is playing?
