On August 20th Caribou release Andora on Merge Records. If you’ve been a fan of the group for some time, you’re probably familiar with their former incarnation as Manitoba, and we really enjoyed the previous Caribou record, The Milk Of Human Kindness.
Having the album for almost a week now is definitely premature to stamp as the group’s best effort to date, but if someone presented that argument I would have a hard time defending the opposite side. From the recent exposure and mentions amongst other bloggers, it wouldn’t surprise me if this release is the one that breaks them to wider audiences.
