That’s right cool kids, word/rumor on the street is that Conor Oberst aka Bright Eyes has scheduled an upcoming show at Milwaukee’s Riverside Theater on Monday, October 22nd.
You probably remember our report of the train wreck performance put on at the end of April at the Pabst Theater to kick off the Cassadaga tour.
Without Oakley Hall and McCarthy Trenching opening the show we have absolutely no idea what Conor will have to ramble on about between each song. We kid, we kid (sort of). Hopefully this will be the show the last one wasn’t, however you may want to get there early for a chance to be in the front row should he be in the guitar giving away mood again.

I’ve heard a few reports of “unique” Bright Eyes performances this year. I’m going to check him out again on Sept. 22nd, Ias long as he nails most of the chord progressions I suppose I’ll be satisfied.. After all, I’m the sucker that still pays to see Cat Power.. /swoon.

For whatever reason, I didn’t buy Cassadaga when it came out. I just bought it from iTunes three or four days ago and I haven’t listened to anything else. It’s pretty great. I am ashamed to say though that I have never seen him live.

Wow – I think that Oberst was trippin’ on some hallucinogens last time he came to Milwaukee. Seriously. He kept asking, “Is everybody alright, I hope everybody is okay” and then repeated the same sh!t between songs about the opening bands about 3 times. As the evening progressed, so did the wacky antics. I must say I have never seen a roadie strong arm a flacid rock star and carry them off the stage – I still talk about that one!
