At his best, Steve Earle’s is one of our favorite songwriters still kicking out the folk-rooted tunes. At his worst, he’d still make our top ten. It’s been three years since we last heard from Steve, but come next week we’ll be donning his upcoming Washington Square Serenade an easy selection for our weekly Tuesday’s Gold feature.
The album, while signature Steve, is one of his more polished and accomplished this decade and includes some soon to be all-time favorites like “Come Home To Me” and “Satellite Radio.” Lending a helping hand and beautiful pipes throughout the record is Steve’s wife Allison Moorer, whose credited with co-writing some of the albums material.
Always a sucker for Steve’s “softer songs,” this album has a plenty of those to keep us smiling, but the rocking ones are really pulling on us as well. More on this one come Tuesday.

This album is sweet and edgy. It’s a love song for NYC and a girl and I feel as if it sings my own song…love, love, love this album!
