Prior to last week I was completely unfamiliar with Shout Out Louds, who recently released Our Ill Wills on Merge Records. The newly released record follows 2005′s Howl Howl Gaff Gaff, which I’ve yet to hear, but promise to seek out after enjoying the most recent.
Our Ill Wills was produced by Bjorn Yttling, who is best know for his contributions to Peter Bjorn and John. Filled with upbeat pop numbers that instantly capture the listener, repeated listens are almost a given once you open yourself up to this collective from Sweden.
Shout Out Louds play the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago on Friday, October 19th.

I liked it better when it was called “In Between Days”. But not much better.
