Drive By Truckers: Brighter Than Creation’s Dark

That’s right kids, the Drive By Truckers have a new album coming out and it will be called, Brighter Than Creation’s Dark.

In a note posted by Patterson Hood on the band’s website, he goes into detail about the record, “Title comes from a really good Cooley song called Checkout Time In Vegas…We had the easiest time making this album, as it just came out as if it was totally meant to be this way. No debates or even decisions to make, it all just made sense. Everyone shared same vision and it came together like throwing pieces into air and having them land in perfect place.”

Other interesting revelations are that the album will include 19 tracks, it will be released early in 2008, and the band plans to “tour our asses off.” Go ahead and read the whole note, then let the excitement settle in.

The Drive By Truckers along with Ryan Bingham & The Dead Horses play The Barrymore in Madison on Saturday, October 20th.
