Sorry for the down time. We’re back, upgraded and better.
Regular posting tomorrow, but don’t miss these gems from some of our friends:
Aquarium Drunkard interviews Ben Nichols of Lucero for the Arizona Republic. Lucero will play Milwaukee’s Turner Hall on Sunday, November 11th.
Stereogum presents Drive XV: A Tribute to Automatic For The People; we’ve really enjoyed Catfish Haven, Bitzen Trapper and Shout Out Louds takes on R.E.M. classics from years ago. R.E.M. will release their live album next week, which features two discs and a live DVD.
Toots & The Maytals play tomorrow night at the Barrymore Theatre in Madison. You’ve still got a couple of hours to get your comment in on this post for free tickets to the performance.
Don’t miss the new Daytrotter session with MoB favorites Two Gallants that went up yesterday. The Daytrotter site got a bit of a face lift, which is worth checking out as well.
The New Pornographers Challengers is one of our favorite releases of the year. Pitchfork posted the video for the title track on Friday, check it out for your Neko quota for the month.
We known we’ve kind of become a Beirut blog with all the coverage on The Flying Club Cup and the wonderful Take Away Shows for each song. We’ll they’re now all up, and word on the street says they’ll soon be available as one big ole DVD.
Speaking of Take Away Shows, how about the lovely and talented St. Vincent, who we recently saw open for The National in Milwaukee.
