Paleo :: The Song Diary

paleo.jpg

I’m always interested in people and things that buck the norm and personify individuality and standing on one’s own. David Strackany, who records as Paleo set off in April 2006 on a mission to tour the US, writing a song every day, and recording it. The dedication alone would be impressive, but the quality of the output is deserving of recognition as well.

Now, with 54,000 miles logged, 215 shows performed and 365 songs written, The Song Diary is ready for release on January 15th of next year. Naturally, I sought out, and have shared below, two of the tracks that he wrote and recorded during stops in Madison.

In addition to the marathon travel and songwriting, Strackany put together a DVD, containing every track from the project and a companion piece lyric book (limited to 365 copies). Look for that to be released sometime next year, until then immerse yourself in the beauty below.
