Due to health reasons The Decemberists have been forced to cancel both upcoming shows at the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee later this month.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel Reports:

Shows by the indie-pop band The Decemberists scheduled for Nov. 18 and 19 at the Riverside Theater have been canceled due to an illness in the group, theater management announced this afternoon.

All remaining dates on the musicians’ “The Long & Short of It Tour” also have been canceled.

A statement on the band’s Web site reads: “One of our band members has been ill for a while, but we thought all would be well in time for these tour dates. After a couple shows, though, it has become clear that the illness is much worse than we had initially realized. We need to return home so our friend can mend.”

The Portland, Ore., band played a sold-out show at the Pabst Theater in April.
