Golden Bear :: To the Farthest Star

golden-bear.jpg

All it took was Golden Bear to Get Lasso’d by our friends at Daytrotter for us to revisit SXSW and the party that made the terrace/roof collapse. It was at said party (and prior to all hell breaking loose) that I crossed paths with Chris Gregory while we mutually embraced the complimentary Lone Star Beer and Dewars Whiskey.

He easily joined my circle of friends as we talked for what seemed like an eternity though probably only lasted thirty minutes. During that time he mentioned his Texas based band Golden Bear and promised to send the album along to me once the craziness of the festival died down. Sure enough it appeared promptly and I managed to load it up, play it, and never mention it here.

Ultimately, To the Farthest Star was bound to find you whether I mentioned it on MoB or not. It’s got the character and charm to find it’s way through the music itself, but I’ll go ahead and do my part just in case. Released on C-Side Records you can check out the two tracks made available below for a great starting point. My thanks to Chris for the good company in Austin and apologies for the delay in mentioning his truly worthy band.
