From The Crowd | The National “Baby, We’ll Be Fine!”

Our from the crowd feature shares some our favorite past concert moments captured in video (albeit sometimes shakey and out of focus). Unlike some of our other scheduled features, these videos will be posted sporadically. Chances are you may have been in the audience, if so, please feel free to leave your remembrances in the comments.

2007 was a big year for The National, who saw the popularity earned from Alligator expand with the release of Boxer, our favorite record of the year. I saw the band four times, all offering different environments like the cozy confines of the High Noon Saloon, opening for Arcade Fire at Radio City Music Hall, leaving behind a destroyed microphone stand at the Pabst Theater, and the Bonnaroo Music Festival.

Seeing the band perform at Bonnaroo was affirmation of the aforementioned popularity surge - tons of people, first timers and long-earned fans. It was getting late, it was the kick off of the festival for me. It was memorable, after their set we drank some tequila.
