From The Crowd shares some our favorite past concert moments captured in video (albeit sometimes shakey and out of focus). Unlike some of our other scheduled features, these videos will be posted sporadically. Chances are you may have been in the audience, if so, please feel free to leave your remembrances in the comments.
I was listening to The Salvation Blues this morning and remembered I had the video below from Mark Olson’s show at Cafe Montmartre last month. Fans of the Jayhawks should have two things on their mind these days:
First, Gary Louris & the Mekons play at the Barrymore Theatre on Thursday, March 27th. We have two (2) tickets to give away for the show.
To enter, please send an e-mail to muzzleofbees.com @ gmail.com letting us know your favorite Jayhawks album and please specify Gary Louris in the subject of your e-mail. We will notify the winner by e-mail on the 26th.
Second, Mark and Gary have recorded a new album, Ready For the Flood which was produced by the Black Crowes Chris Robinson (who also produced Louris’ Vagabonds). Look for that album in the summer with a subsequent tour to follow. Anyone remember the last time the two stopped through town at the now-defunct Luther’s Blues?
