Always a favorite, catching Lucero in front of thousands at the Mess With Texas party was one of our highlights from SXSW. We caught up with Ben right after their set while NOFX played in the background to talk about SXSW, his contributions to the upcoming record from The Hold Steady, and his upcoming solo album/EP! Last, but not least, we got a promise to play Madison!

Details on the solo album are still coming together, but I can tell you that the songs are based on the Cormac McCarthy novel Blood Meridian, who also penned No Country for Old Men.
