Video: Steve Earle and Emmylou Harris - “Goodbye”

A restless night called for a spin through Steve Earle’s Train A Comin’ as I battled my restlessness today’s first Milwaukee Brewer game at Miller Park.

Very much like his concert, the one song on this album that stands out is “Goodbye.” An honest reflection of past regrets and mistakes, sung through painful lungs. Below Earle is flanked by the lovely voice of Emmylou Harris for one of my favorite versions of the song.

One of my favorite Earle albums, though I’m a bigger fan of those three historical ballads. I can see the attraction of “Goodbye” for a restless night, however. Thanks for this video.

Isn’t that Lanois in the back on the Firebird?
