Each Tuesday stop by Muzzle of Bees for our recommended purchases for the week. Here are the albums we suggest for the release date of April 8th:

Artist: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Album: Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!!
Label: Anti
Myspace: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Video: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – “Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!”
MoB: Dark and brooding, just the way I like my Nick Cave records to sound. Seeing him for the first time in Berlin next month, which leaves me brimming with excitement. This won’t be the last you hear of Cave or this record on this site. Pick up a copy for yourself, we’ll talk later.

Artist: Man Man
Album: Rabbit Habits
Label: Anti
Myspace: Man Man
MP3: Man Man – “Top Drawer”
Video: Man Man – “Van Helsing Boombox” (Live)
Upcoming: 4/17 w/Yeasayer @ High Noon Saloon, Madison
MoB: Always providing a top-notch circus-like live performance, Man Man know how to bring the energy. Their previous effort Six Demon Bag contained plenty of peaks and valleys, but brought them to the top of the indie world. This record is the sound of a very promising young band making their masterpiece. Their most concise and well-rounded record, I’ve got intentions of bumping this one all through the summer.

Artist: Jim Noir
Album: Jim Noir
Label: Barsuk
Myspace: Jim Noir
MP3: Jim Noir – “Don’t You Worry”
Video: Jim Noir – “Eanie Meany”
MoB: Noir’s last release Tower Of Love earned our We Like stamp of approval. I needed all of thirty seconds to be immersed in this beauty. Looking to add a little electronic and beat influence to your collection with a splash of the Beach Boys? Here’s a great choice.

Artist: Fleet Foxes
Album: Sun Giant EP
Label: Sub Pop
Myspace: Fleet Foxes
MP3: Fleet Foxes – “Mykonos”
Video: Fleet Foxes – “Dreams” (Fleetwood Mac)
Upcoming: Tonight w/Blitzen Trapper @ High Noon Saloon, Madison
MoB: One of the most popular and talked about bands this year and for good reason. Take a spin through Sun Giant EP and you’ll ignore all the comparisons and concentrate on the breezy Northwest sound that’s guaranteed to make your favorites list.

Artist: Cloud Cult
Album: Feel Good Ghosts (Tea-Partying Through Tornadoes)
Label: Rebel Group
Myspace: Cloud Cult
MP3: Cloud Cult – “Everybody Here Is A Cloud”
Video: Cloud Cult – “Chemicals Collide”
Upcoming: 4/11 w/American Music Club @ High Noon Saloon, Madison
MoB: A beautiful follow up to The Meaning of 8, far exceeding all of our expectations. My current favorite track is “When Water Comes To Life,” which features a very Andrew Bird sounding opening before erupting into signature Cloud Cult, good stuff indeed.

Artist: The Breeders
Album: Mountain Battles
Label: 4AD Records
Myspace: The Breeders
MP3: The Breeders – “Bang On”
Video: The Breeders – “Overglazed”
Upcoming: 5/31 w/Colette – Metro/Smart Bar, Chicago
MoB: “How could I have prepared myself for this echoic, simple, quiet yet loud hybrid of good old fashioned alternative rock? Sure, it’s reminiscent of the flannel days. There are several songs that scream out “What the hell was Frank Black thinking?!” Read the rest of our review here.
