Tuesday’s Gold: What We Recommend #54

Each Tuesday stop by Muzzle of Bees for our recommended purchases for the week. Here are the albums we suggest for the release date of April 22nd:

Artist: Chris Mills
Album: Living In The Aftermath
Label: Ernest Jenning
Myspace: Chris Mills
MP3: Chris Mills - “Such A Beautiful Thing”
MP3: Chris Mills - “Atom Smashers”
Video: Chris Mills - “Atom Smashers”
Upcoming: 4/25 - Chris Mills/Anders Parker - Kiki’s House, Madison
MoB: This album is without a doubt one of the best discoveries of the year for me. A wonderful listen from start to finish. “Harvesting music and lyrics from headlines, horror movies, four-color ash-can adventures, and the black and white reflections of late night re-runs.” This record comes with our highest recommendation and to prove we like it so much we’re giving away a copy. To enter, please send an e-mail to muzzleofbees.com @ gmail.com with Chris Mills in the subject, we’ll select a winner at random and notify them by e-mail on Friday.

Artist: The Night Marchers
Album: See You In Magic
Label: Vagrant
Myspace: The Night Marchers
MP3: Night Marchers - “Who’s Lady R U”
Video: The Night Marchers @ Casbah
Upcoming: 5/4 - Schubas, Chicago
MoB: I got turned onto the Night Marchers from an interview I did with Ben from Lucero at SXSW. Since then I’ve been blasting through this record fronted by John Reis of Rocket From The Crypt fame. Highly recommended to fans of Lucero, The Pixies, The Stooges or just about anyone who loves rock and roll at its finest.

Artist: Lyrics Born
Album: Everywhere At Once
Label: Anti
Myspace: Lyrics Born
Video: Lyrics Born - “Bad Dreams”
MoB: I can still remember seeing Lyrics Born in the basement bar at the Rave in Milwaukee back in 2003, circa Later That Day… My friend Justin and I were two of perhaps 50 people in the joint, but that show made me a fan for life. Though I loathe records with skits between songs, the bright spots on this one more than make up for the annoyance.
