Pitchfork has the details on the upcoming record from The Hold Steady called Stay Positive. The album will see its physical release via Vagrant on July 15th – just in time to sweat whiskey out your pores during their set at the Pitchfork Music Festival. Now if someone would announce a Madison date…
One thing not noted by Pitchfork is that Lucero’s Ben Nichols lends guest/back up vocals to the second track “Sequestered in Memphis.” Sadly, unless they changed the name, there is no sign of our live favorite “Ask Her For Some Adderall” anywhere on upcoming record.
Stay Positive Track List:
01 Constructive Summer
02 Sequestered in Memphis
03 One for the Cutters
04 Navy Sheets
05 Lord, I’m Discouraged
06 Yeah Sapphire
07 Both Crosses
08 Stay Positive
09 Magazines
10 Joke About Jamaica
11 Slapped Actress

I posted yesterday about the same friggin’ thing – where is “Ask Her For The Adderrall”? Can’t wait to hear this one anyway, even if the best song somehow didn’t make the cut.

Good news on the Adderall front. According to Pitchfork, it’s going to be one of three “bonus” tracks on initial pressings of the new record.
