Last night Tegan and Sara filled up the Barrymore Theatre and Ed Oliver was there to capture the action for Muzzle of Bees. What did you think of the show? How did The Con sound live? Which sister has better tattoos? Did you know that Tegan was our very first interview here at MoB?

Ah, so Ed was the jerk with the press pass who got to run around in front of the barrier taking pictures (I’m just jealous, ignore me).
I thought T&S were great, especially so as it was despite the various obnoxious, drunk/high kids in the audience who felt compelled to shout out the weirdest, most inane shit at them all night.
As much as I enjoyed their more up-tempo songs, I think they really came together on the slower, more melodic tunes. There were some really beautiful moments. And their storytelling, as always, was hilarious and endearing.
Best tattoos? Both looked pretty good, but I think I dug Sara’s more. Chalk it up to personal taste.

I didn’t go last night, but i saw T&S in San Diego last fall. Did they play “umbrella” again? tegan’s solo acoustic without a mic on the guitar or for her voice of “walking with a ghost” was the highpoint of the last tour. everyone in the theatre was forced to be perfectly quiet so as to hear her. and it was quite moving.
