I caught Madison & Milwaukee this weekend, and now I'm having serious withdrawal. I feel something like this:

Yeah, I wish they had played longer as well. That said, what was performed was executed in the highest fashion and with the sort intensity you expect from the Avett Brothers. Yet another AWESOME show for them at the High Noon....and finally a WEEKEND show!

The last couple years found them hitting Madison on a Mon...or Thursday. A Friday night is just what we all needed. The crowd was a rowdy fun bunch, the band played perfectly...and aside from a bunch of issues with feedback, everything was beautiful.

My friends and I were saying that after a while you forget how truly exciting and inspirational an Avett Brothers show is. A year goes by...and you sort of *forget* that they're your favorite live act. Then, their BUS(!....every year their transport gets more impressive) roles into town, and we're swept away.

Two years ago they opened for BR5-49 to a handful of a crowd. They stole the show. One year ago they headlined to a handful of folk and wowed us again. They made a few more fans that night...and I'm sure they were in attendance on this past Friday night when they played to a PACKED house (People turned away at the door) and blew the roof off the joint.

I wonder if they'll be moving to the Barrymore when they stop through next year? I guess we'll see....I mean, I know I'LL be there.

Great show. I haven't seen the High Noon that packed in a while. Some bands don't sound as good as what they put down in the studio but the Avett Brothers actually sound better live. I surprised they didn't play for longer though. It seem like they were confused if they were supposed to take set break or play one set and come back for encore. I wish the show would have gone on longer as I was on my way to not too far past midnight.

i caught them in milwaukee, and they are officially my new favorite band.

the crowd sang along at the end of the set, then continued on their own through the entire encore for 5 min, until the brothers came back to finish the song.

also, how can you not fall in love with the asian cello player. he brings so much passion. which reminds me, i am going to find out his name, etc.
