Video: The Everybodyfields – “Let It Be Me”

The Everybodyfields play Cafe Montmartre tonight. This show comes highly recommended to the masses who attended the Avett Brothers a few weeks back. Same label y’all.

Tickets: $10

Here’s their take on the always popular “Let It Be Me” which has been previously been covered by the likes of Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Nina Simone and David Hasselhoff. Good company!

You forgot the most important version of the song – the original, penned and performed by the remarkable Everly Brothers, Don & Phil. Arguably the purest harmonies ever in rock ‘n roll. Major influence on assorted artists, but most importantly on Lennon & McCartney and Paul Simon. Here they are singing “Let It Be Me” in the later stages of their career:

You are in good company when you’re with the Hoff.

Rosie Thomas did a great cover of that song as well.
