Benji Hughes :: A Little Extreme EP

Benji Hughes

Prepare yourself for Benji Hughes, whose upcoming A Little Extreme EP on New West Records has landed in heavy rotation here at MoB HQ. Channeling comparisons to Beck and an upbeat version of Eels make this the perfect artist to leave you with for the weekend and in preparation for the summer.

Truth be told, the aforementioned EP is just a teaser to an upcoming double disc long player A Love Extreme on the same label. If these six tracks are the jump off for Benji Hughes material, consider me ready and willing to dive right into anything else he releases. For now, get your taste with the two free and legal MP3’s below and pick up A Love Extreme on June 22nd.

Actually, the full length is called “A Love Extreme” and this EP is called “A Little Extreme.”

I’m going to see Benji open for Thao and Rilo Kiley tomorrow night in NYC…I’ll let you know what I think. Can’t wait for this show!

  5. Mitch Says:

Saw him open for Rilo Kiley in Asheville, NC & he is in need of serious help. He was, well, a little drunk or something. Couldn’t understand most of the words & their show in comparison to Thao w/The Get Down Stay Down was rather sophomoric. Thao was ripping it up with loads of distortion and Rilo Kiley, well what can you say?

  6. Jordan Says:

I saw him in Asheville as well but I thought he was quite impressive aside from the whole being smashed thing. His music, unlike Thao with the Get Down Stay Down, was incredibly varied from one song to the next and he pretty much covered every genre. Pretty amazing!
