With the news of Bo Diddley’s death last week some took the news as a reason to get acquainted with his body of work. Others dusted off their vinyl and paid homage to a blues legend by turning it up just a little bit louder. I revisited the out of print Tales from the Funk Dimension 1970-73: Drive by Bo Diddley, filled with undeniable funk, including Bo’s take on Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Band. This is essential listening not only for fans of the late Bo Diddley, but anyone who considers themselves a funk aficionado.
