Same As It Never Was

Many years ago my friend Justin placed The Herbaliser’s “Mission Improbable” on a summer CD mix he made. I played that thing non-stop that summer. This summer The Herbaliser is back, better than ever, and with the release of Same As It Never Was via K7 Records. The release showcases new vocalist Jessica Darling, whose pipes lend a soul dynamic to the group (think Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings), adding to their already trademark blend of hip-hop and jazz. Per usual, the group offers storyteller rap selections, none finer than “Street Karma.”

Below, get your hands on a free and legal MP3 of “You’re Not All That,” which completely embodies their soul/funk arrival. If you like what you hear check out our latest muxtape, featuring the title track off the new record.

Great track! I’ve never heard of them before, but bought the whole album from eMusic after listening to this. Great for summer car rides with the top open. Thanks!
