How much did you pay for the new Girl Talk record? Today you can “pay what you want” for Feed The Animals, but be warned you’ll have to provide your reasons for your decisions. Anyone who’s gotten on stage with Gregg in the past and shared sweat with the man owes at least $5, right?
For those that have already heard it, what are your initial reactions? What did you pay?

I personally did not pay anything for it, mainly because I do not find this to be a main-stay in my collection. It is definitely a fun party album, as was Nightripper. Feed the Animal appears to be more of the same, just different songs. Yet, something tells me as I listen to it that I have heard him use some of these samples before? Oh well, you take Girl Talk for what it is, a mash up of former and current hits.

extremely innovative, how could any album be more fun than this?

I paid $3. My reasoning is twofold - it’s roughly what it’d cost me to d/l it from eMusic (where I got his previous two albums) and I’ll probably end up dishing out another $15 for it when it’s released on vinyl later this year. $18 for a fun party album sounds reasonable to me.

I paid $6 and after I bumped it last night….thought it was worth every penny. I’m going to re-name the album “Beatmatcher Snatcher” !!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely better than Night Ripper. BLACKstreet vs Kanye was amazing.

I did not pay anything for it, but will likely buy the physical cd when it comes out later this year. This is some good stuff for sure.

MIA and Dreams by The Cranberries has made summer go from okay to awesome. I’ve been listening to it a lot and intend to keep in on a steady rotation on my iPod.

I paid 0.00 for it. I don’t mean to sound like an oldie, but i have a hard time paying for a record of some dude meshing together his record collection and not actually…you know…..playing/writing/creating music…
Like, I like it, but it’s a total download for free type of deal.
And, at times, I feel like I’m listening to Open House Party with John Garribeadean (sp?).
But overall, it’s kinda cool.

I think that Girltalk is creating new music through what he does. His Songs often sound little like their original components, and the new tempo and life he puts into things definitely counts as art to me.
I’m Paying 0.00 for it, because I dont care for buying things on the net. I’ll get the album when it comes out later.

I paid 9,999,999.99 for it. It is funny that is the highest price you can pay for it. Makes me wonder. I read that the vinyl of Feed The Animals comes out on WHAM records (Dan Deacon’s label).
Check out my in depth review of FEED THE ANIMALS at my blog Noosic. Lots of Girl Talk vids there too. Interviews and even one of him making a song.
