Benji Hughes :: A Love Extreme

Benji Hughes

Remember Benji Hughes? I couldn’t get enough of his EP, A Little Extreme, and now with the full-length A Love Extreme coming July 22nd on New West, I wanted to share some more MP3’s with you.

Gotta love a tune called “I Went With Some Friends To See The Flaming Lips.” Recommended for fans of Beck and the Eels.

This guy used to lead a terribly underrated and overlooked band called Muscadine. After that, he had a short stint (and no official releases, I think) in a alt-country band The Goldenrods. His songwriting and voice are both amazing, but I have to admit I’m a little disappointed that his first official release since Muscadine is this electronic, club-sounding stuff that is being constantly compared to Beck and the Eels.
