Over the past week I’ve been on a steady diet of Lyle Lovett who comes to town with his Large Band on Sunday, July 13th, for an intimate performance at Overture Hall. I’ve got my favorites from Lyle’s catalog: The Road to Ensenada, Step Inside This House, and It’s Not Big It’s Large have all contributed to laying my fan foundation.
If you’re on the fence, please pay your money down and see a great performer that will capture your attention across an entire evening. There are a limited amount of tickets still remaining, so you’ve got no excuse.
Are you making the show? Have you seen Lyle Lovett & his Large Band before? What are your favorite Lyle Lovett records? Stop back Monday for our review + photos.

I saw Lyle about 10 years ago at an outdoor amphitheater - the type where everyone brings wine and cheese and socializes. People get REALLY loud.
In the middle of the performance, Lyle stopped and said, “I’m glad you all are having a good time and all, but there are people who are here to listen to my music. Could you please keep it down?”
Classic moment. He earned my respect then.

I saw Lyle Lovett with the Large Band in the early 90s when Joshua Judges Ruth had just come out. It was an EXCELLENT show by an excellent showman who has superb timing. Lucky, lucky you!
