I saw Lyle Lovett with the Large Band in the early 90s when Joshua Judges Ruth had just come out. It was an EXCELLENT show by an excellent showman who has superb timing. Lucky, lucky you!

I saw Lyle about 10 years ago at an outdoor amphitheater – the type where everyone brings wine and cheese and socializes. People get REALLY loud.

In the middle of the performance, Lyle stopped and said, “I’m glad you all are having a good time and all, but there are people who are here to listen to my music. Could you please keep it down?”

Classic moment. He earned my respect then.
