I can distinctly remember the first time I have Catfish Haven a listen. After my introduction, I played “Please Come Back” off their Secretly Canadian debut EP of the same name. Those seven songs made up the sound track of that year (2006) for me.
Since that time I’ve seen the band countless times, drank more than a few beers with them, and have continuously been wowed by their growth as musicians. That maturity can be traced to their upcoming new record, Devastator, available October 7th, blending rock and soul with the Catfish Haven touch. I really enjoyed Tell Me, but I missed seeing them the last couple of times they were in Madison. I did get an email yesterday saying they were playing the Annex on 10/2, so I’ll hopefully be able to correct this error.
