Everybody enjoy the holiday weekend? Time to get back into the swing of things. I’ve been hot on Brooklyn’s Parts & Labor in the past, finding a lot to like with last year’s Mapmaker. The group will release Receivers next month (10/21) on Jagjaguwar, who fittingly describe the new one as “heady mix of psych, noise, and pop influenced by the arty minimalism of Wire, the surreal pop of early Eno, and even the spaced out psychedelia of Dark Side-era Pink Floyd.”
If that’s not enough to peak your curiosity, take the time to grab the free and legal download of the first single “Nowheres Nigh” below. That track along with “The Ceasing Now” received heavy rotation at MoB HQ over the long weekend and are two of the finest tracks in the band’s catalog. Definitely a record to keep on your radar.

Dan Friel from Parts & Labor played at the Cactus Club in Milwaukee last month.
Awesome show, but unfortunately there was virtually no one in attendance.
