OCMS is a great band. Since you asked for other bands with a similar sound, a group of guys local to Boston, MA put out a few albums a few years ago under the name “The Benders”. Note there is more than one band out there with that name, but the one I’m referring to is made up of Bow Thayer, Jabe Beyer and a few others. Here is a link to their best CD (they have 3 in total):

I used to work at the State Theatre in Ithaca, NY and OCMS played there on the last tour. It was really a homecoming show as the band actually started up here. It was great, with members of the Horseflies sitting in.

OCMS play more than country and to me, are hard to classify. Their vintage blues and americana would make Woody Guthrie proud.

Phish getting back together doesn’t do much for me. I was thrilled when they hung it up and I think it allowed everyone else to listen to something besides Phish. Perhaps my initial reaction would change if a tour materializes near us.

Great album, great band. I love these guys live, they just really let it all loose an have a great time on stage. Real down home American country. But, cant believe MoB has not reported on biggest music news. Phish!
