The single "Fix it" is brilliant and likeable. There are some very good cuts but too many slow songs making the album tiring.

I hyped it on Everhype and scored it 84% which I think is fairly accurate.

I wouldn't mind getting some opinions on it . If you get on there, rate me a 5 & request friendship.

Personally, I feel that "Cardinology" is one of RA's weakest efforts to date. It's just very bland compared to his other albums.

Why isn't it alright for all of us to like something different without having to dis what someone else likes? The new album is a NEW one. I suppose that it's natural to have expectations, but to find that something has failed because it's not like its predecessor is just--I dunno....blank and narrow. Yours truly kinda misses the harmonica.

I don't know how 29 could be considered lyrically weak. I think that album was easily one of his strongest lyrical efforts ("Strawberry Wine", "Carolina Rain"). Not a whole lot of people can pull of songs like that, but Ryan does. Cardinology is a little underwhelming, but i still like it. It is better than Easy Tiger, if only for Tom Schick's production. It doesn't have the bite of some of his previous albums, but I think the new album is definitely worth a spin and has some excellent songs ("Crossed Out Name", "Stop", etc).

Cold Roses would be hard to top in my book. Cardinology takes some time to sink in. I felt the same way with Easy Tiger, which I listen to a lot more now than I did when it first came out. "Fix It" is a great track and an absolute scorcher live.

Neal Casal - Halstead's a different dude

For what it's worth - really disappointed with the album (as I was with Easy Tiger). Ryan's lost the rough edges and spark - the last 3 albums (going back to 29) are disappointing, lyrically weak, AOR soft-rock.

Really disappointing, especially since Cold Roses and Jacksonville City Nights were excellent

I really dig this new album too. FYI, only one [former] Cardinal even played on 29. It wasn't a "& the Cardinals" release.
