This is the first time I’ve collected or kept track of my favorite songs of a particular year. I’ve always been an album guy. Maybe I’m changing, or maybe there were just a lot of tracks that I wanted to recognize. Or perhaps I’m just hoping for a good discussion. Initially this was supposed to be a collection of 25 tracks. That number became too difficult to manage as more favorites were remembered. Below, you’ll find streams, MP3’s, and videos of our 50 favorite songs of 2008.

There is no order, my favorites from this list would fluctuate by the day, mood, surroundings. What I do know is there are some great songs below. If I absolutely had to pick, I would choose My Morning Jacket’s “Touch Me I’m Going To Scream Part 2″ without hesitation as my overall favorite song. Check out the rest of my favorites.
