Wilco – Ashes of American Flags (DVD)

Is anyone going to any of the upcoming Jeff Tweedy solo shows? I debated hauling it back to my old hometown of Champaign, IL this weekend at Foellinger Auditorium. Not happening. Anyway, what you’re looking at above is what appears to be the cover for the upcoming Wilco DVD, Ashes of American Flags. I love it.

There is no official release date other than “Spring,” but keep your browser pointed to AshesOfAmericanMovie.com for upcoming news, dates and a trailer.

Can’t wait for more information on this DVD to come out. I’m really hoping they include some songs from the night 1 9:30 club show last spring. During that show Wilco transcended their normal awesomeness into a realm of supernatural awesomeness. They were filming most of the night, so here’s to “A Magazine Called Sunset,” “Pieholden Suite,” or “Summerteeth” from that show popping up on this DVD.

I go to school in New York, so I’m definitely going to try to make it to Jeff’s show in Beacon – though it’s a bit of a poke from Manhattan, and the Metro-North rail doesn’t run late. Looking forward to the DVD. Beautiful cover!
